Constantine I, 307/310-337. Follis (Silvered bronze, 19 mm, 3.30 g, 7 h), Rome, circa 320. CONS-TANTIN-VS AVG Helmeted, draped and cuirassed bust of Constantine I to left, seen from behind, holding spear in his right hand and shield with his left. Rev. VIRTV-S AVGG / P - R / R Q Campgate with no doors and four turrets. RIC -. Very rare. A very attractive example with most attractive silvering and an impressive military bust. Very minor areas of weakness, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.

This bust type (H4) is unlisted in RIC for the reverse 'four turrets, no doors'. Now seven examples are known, six from officina Q and one from officina S.
